Describe in detail what happened that resulted in your being charged with a violation of the Student Code of Conduct.

I violated the campus rule of using a three lights lamp. All students are expected to be acquainted with and follow the Student Conduct Code as prescribed by the University. This student conduct code affects student groups as well as individual students, and extend to any property owned or controlled by the University, or the events sponsored by the University. In some circumstances, student conduct code jurisdiction also extends to off-campus behavior. Students may be suspended for their behavior in civil or criminal proceedings apart from of whether their behavior infringes the student conduct code.

There is student code of conduct for my campus that states that destruction, damage, use, unauthorized entry or theft of University property comes in the violation of rules prescribed by the campus. This includes taking chairs from the campus, using three light lamps other than an event or being in the Library Hall when it has been closed to the students. Thus, one day while me and some of my class fellows were preparing for the upcoming annual function at our campus, I used the three lights lamp and forgot to switch it off at the time of leaving.

What was your level of responsibility for the situation?

All students are required to follow the Student Code of Conduct as prescribed by the campus. Therefore in this regard, I was not allowed to use the three lights lamp without the permission of the campus authority that is the administration department. In this case, my level of responsibility was to get permission from the authority for using these lights.
