Introduction

This paper presents a detail analysis of exporting old data base into a new data base. The data base consists of two individuals whose names are Jim and Tim. To clarify the exporting of the old data base into new one is also referred to as Data migration. The colloquial meaning of the term "migration" means the transfer from one place to another. Unfortunately, too often, data migration is understood literally - as a simple transfer of data from one system to another. The move is a purely technical operation; migration should focus on the business importance and usage data. The question is when we are dealing with the migration of data or loading data to the corporate data warehouse is migration, and archiving data migration? The data migration can be defined such transfer of data, which forces a change in format, but does not change the way in which these data are used (i.e. either archiving or loading into the data warehouse are data migration). Most data migration we have to do if you have to replace one system to other, better adapted to current needs of the company, but fulfilling the same function.

Discussion

When switching to a new version of a database or application, or when migrating to a new system, data must be preserved in the new system. The goal of data migration is to transfer existing data into the new environment. These must be transformed in an appropriate format for the new system and this, while preserving the information stored in the old system. The requirements for storing the database for Jim and Tim are as follows:

The first step is to gain understanding of the organizational business requirements. These are generally high-level requirements, but include some critical areas such as:
