Types of Database

The types of database are briefly elaborated in the proceeding discussion.

Flat File Database

Flat file databases are considered as the most convenient and easy to use database. This type of database is more suitable for the little amount of information that requires to be human understandable or altered by hand. Most importantly the flat file data bases are composed of a set of strings in single or multiple files that can easily be parsed, in order to access the desired information. It is often observed that, this kind of database is not suitable for large amount of data or complex data (Rob & Coronel, 2009).
