Introduction

Nowadays, selling a product is not enough, it is also necessary to provide health, time, and tradition and, which have become more important than selling a product, the emergence of which has given rise to the concept of corporate social responsibility (Altman & Vidaver, 2000). Basically, the added value offered by a brand, results in an active contribution to the economic, environmental and social development which is the latter meaning of the same concept. In short, these are activities that generate an impact on responsible and health activities of any of the business. But there is a point which needs to be clear that CSR should not be confused with labor laws and regulations of the company, compliance with which is assumed, the Dannon goes further, approaching the field of ethics (Smith, 2003) . This assignment focuses on the CSR activities of Dannon Food Company. Throughout this assignment three main factors of CSR i.e. transparency, credibility and accountability have been discussed in detail.

Company Overview

The Dannon Company is an America's origin national yogurt company that is continuously leveraging its proficiency and capabilities in order to widen and develop innovative cultured fresh dairy products in America. The company's headquarter is located in New York, white plains. Most of the pants of Dannon Company are in OH, TX, Fort Worth, Minister and West Jordan. The company is majorly involved in producing and selling almost 100 different kinds of styles, sizes and flavors of fresh dairy products. Dannon is under the ownership of Danone Group, which is one of the largest producer of packaged beverages and foods in the world and Dannon is one of the leader in selling brands of yogurt products throughout the world under an umbrella of Dannon and Danone. Considering several operations of the company, Dannon is also quite active in being socially responsible organization. Therefore, CSR is considered as an internal corporate level, that it takes this responsibility in order to ensure job security, jobs, a broad benefits package, fair wages, as well as professional development opportunities for employees (Dannon Company, 2010).

At market level, Dannon foods guarantee the quality of products, ensuring the protection of consumer rights, expanding product portfolio through innovation, adhere to the ethical rules of competition and advertising, develop open relationships with business partners. And, finally, for the society and the state, they are committed to themselves in order to promote cleaner production, and the development of social groups, local communities, and the development innovative fresh dairy products through investment in production branches and financial support of local communities (CSR Review, 2009).
