D2L (Desire to learn) is quite famous for deploying Learning Management Systems (LMS) in various colleges and professional institutes. In today's competitive educational environment, most of the organizations are faced with severe challenges to facilitate the real business data to cater decisive business issues. In this lieu, universities must have to analyze as well as scrutinize various enrolment trends along with the demographics, geography and diversity data. Moreover, student retention rates in addition to satisfaction, rate provides quite profound insight prior to making accurate and fast decisions (Desire2learn.com, 2010).
The project is related to the deployment of LMS (Leaning Management Software) in our organization. The project has divided the workforce into three core divisions so as to enhance the functionality of each group. These teams include instructional and/or support team, academic team and most importantly the technical support team. A total of fifteen personnel were deployed on the project having eight from he academic team, three from support and four from technical support team. The large academic team safeguards the purpose of the services which are about to be deployed. Apart from that the head of the implementation team would belong to the academic team to provide a higher degree of compliance to the cause.
The first phase of D2L would incorporate a single sign-on authentication. By using single sign-on, the users have the ability to comply with the uniform enterprise authentication along with significant cost saving during the implementation phase. It also provides us with end to end audit session thereby enabling enhanced security features for logging into the system (authenticationworld.com, 2006).
