Introduction

Cybercrime or cyber terrorism can be extremely damaging and expensive to those who are targeted. It should be taken seriously to go after these criminals and bring charges against them. It acts as a viral disease in the society where nobody in the cyberspace is safe from such misconduct. The biggest challenge faced by the law enforcement agencies is the identification of criminals from a broad range of suspects. These problems are resolved by the introduction of technology in the digital forensics domains. Therefore, it becomes significantly convenient for the police to monitor the digital areas of cyberspace, capture suspicious movements, and maintain the law and order situations under difficult circumstances. The investigation agencies are also utilizing certain gadgets and devices which assist in the detection of evidences in the computer crime scenes. These are highly credited among the enforcements and policing. This paper discusses the various aspects of cybercrime and relationship with prosecution along with its limitations.

The rising trend of technology has participated in the cyber crime and policing activities. The most noted trend in criminal activities today is technology. The intelligent monitoring systems and profiling systems have become common among the law enforcement teams. The police these days use these systems to track the activities and keep the records of every person in residing localities. Therefore, it becomes convenient for the enforcement to observe and capture any movement violating the law in cyberspace. However, these developments in the field of technology have also given boost in various methods of cybercrime.

There are various innovations marked by the successful achievements in digital forensics to overcome the cybercrime. These are intelligent criminal profiling systems, case track management systems, rapid identification system, and navigation computers. All these systems have supported the policing and enforcement agencies in resolving cases pertaining to cybercrime and illegal actions.

What is Cyberspace?

Cyberspace can be defined as the place for “all things digital”. The identities and objects existing in the communication network domains are known to subsist in cyberspace. However, it should not be confused with the internet itself. The events taking place on the digital media rather than physical presence is said to be prevailing in the cyberspace.
