Modern Nation-State

The nation-states define its border only according to the area of a settlement of the national group in the country. There are many nation states whose borders are defined naturally with rivers or mountain ranges and they are considered legally as well. The nation-states give importance to the national unity and participate in the economic, cultural and social life of the nation-state. The nation-states have a strong federal and uniform public administration that creates a uniform national culture and a common language. This common culture and language are spread and become the basis of a uniform curriculum in the schools - mostly at secondary levels. (Riklin, 2005)

Another hint that the establishment has a high culture of evidence: when people surveys or inquiries at the interview, they respond positively, as past experience has led them to associate a query with the empowerment. "Someone asked me what I saw, or think, or need, and if I respond thoughtfully, I likely to get more control of what happens with me."

Another allusion to a healthy culture of evidence: see faculty. course evaluation reviews as a way to teach students (for example) that good research is part of general education institutions. The Faculty is proud of the inquiry and the responsibility with which the data are analyzed and used, and how scientists remain accountable to stakeholders (including students, who have invested the time to provide feedback.)

A nation is bound by ethnicity and is based on basic cultural values. It is not a free-standing and self-contained entity. It is a cultural and/or ethnic entity. There are many nations in the world.

A state can be defined as an entity which has an organized political community and a government who runs it. There are many states in Europe which are run by the governments chosen by their citizens. The state is both a political and geopolitical entity

A nation-state can be defined as a state, or a country, whose territory and borders are explicitly defined. The people living in such a country or state exist like a nation who have standard organized themselves either by the cultural background or race. (Philip, 2006)

Normally, in a nation-state people speak the same language, they have more or less the same national and cultural values to follow, and practice the similar types of religion. Japan is one of the examples of nation state. Japanese have a great sense of national identity and the language spoken by them is strictly the same. The religion is almost the same everywhere with small differences. When the two coincides geographically, it is known as the “nation-state”. This is one of the factors that differentiate the various other kinds of state with the nation state.
