Introduction
The modern world has brought with itself numerous gifts and endowments for its inhabitants. What the modern world relishes today, could not have been imagined by the people living centuries ago. Let it be the incessant development in the field of science and technology or the ever decreasing distances between the countries and their cultures. The media have indulged the youth so much in the colors of the modern world and the luxurious life that not only have the youth become materialistic to a significant extent, but has forgotten or ignored the real and core values of the American society and its culture (nos.org).

Media Technically the term media is defined as the transmission of the desired information electronically via the innovations made by the mankind over time, in shape of television (www.lse.ac.uk). Perhaps the most well-known and easily recognizable comedians are stand-up comics. In the 1970s and early 1980s, stand-up comedy enjoyed a rise in cultural stature that lifted its level of legitimacy and visibility to a revered art form, especially among people who valued cultural and political dissent. During that era, women comedians were virtually absent from the comedy clubs and cable television.
They were, however, doing stand-up routines, and they positioned themselves as cultural critics of the social and political scene. Of the few women stand-up comics who commanded a national audience-Phyllis Diller, Totie Fields, and Joan Rivers-none was generally recognized as politically or culturally important. Most scholars argue that the successful female comedians of that time were relegated to making mostly self-denigrating jokes.
