Introduction

Culture is a highly subjective term, which holds a different meaning for different people. Some view culture as a strict guideline which is set in the traditions of the society; and hence should be followed very carefully. For others culture is not a strict guideline, rather a way of life, which only provides a generic view of life, and the people are free to follow it as they please. The world community is an amalgamation of several different groups and societies; these groups of people have grown accustomed to live their life in a certain way (Markus & Kitayama, 1991). The combination of the traditions along with the behaviors of a certain society has a great influence on the overall. Culture In the contemporary society, even the most isolated people of the world is now interconnected; and hence the diffusion of the global cultures is taking place.

The emergence of the cosmopolitan society is a result of such diffusion, where the people from various parts of the world live together, and the culture of the new society is formed by the mixture of diverse separate cultures. In the modern society culture is also perceived as a negative phenomenon, as certain elements of a culture can impose upon its followers certain negative activities (Clifford, 1988). It is popularly stated that the culture of a society should only be used as a generic concept, and people should not be bound by their cultural implication to behave in a certain manner. At the end of the day, the logic and persons individuality should influence his behavioral tendencies along with the cultural implications.
