Introduction

Since the emergence of the world and people started inhabiting the regions of the worlds, people have divided themselves into communities based on religion, color and language. This division of society into regions is defined by the activities they perform. The common activities of a certain region are labeled under the heading of cultures.

Cultures define societies and their practices, cultures are based upon many factors which include language, customs, practices and activities. Every culture defines positive and negative traits of that particular society and the heritage they are carrying forward from their forefathers. It is the natural instinct of the human being to study the cultures of other people and learn from their mistakes and adopt the positivity of their cultures (Grossberg, et. Al., 1992).

Initially when transportation was not as fast as it has been in recent times people still had the curiosity to learn about different cultures and societies living in the world. Since the emergence of globalization the trend has totally changed as either will fully or not people do meet people with other customs and traditions.

The migration reasons have been particularly dominated by the search of living hood, but other reasons of tourism and education has also played a significant role in compelling people to migrate from their homelands to other parts of the world.

Regions of the world who witness diverse cultures are the countries of USA, England and Australia. These countries in particular have witnessed an enormous flow of emigrants from all parts of the world for the purpose of living hood and education (During, 2007).

The experience was an enthralling one as I could easily relate to the people present in the hall. I have forefathers from the Sudanese origins, this community of Australia quickly accepted me, and I enjoyed a lot with the Sudanese group and actively participated in their singing and dancing activities.

The songs and the choreography was a clear reflection of their cultural binding to Sudan, and as I had a decent knowledge because of similar cultural backgrounds enjoyed a lot. However, my Australian friends who did not belong to the same origins felt uncomfortable in the atmosphere.

I conversed with the organizers of the event we had similar accents of Dinak origins, I conversed that whether it was particularly arranged for Australia born Sudanese to remain intact to their cultural heritages.

The same case would have been for other students of Australia ...
