Introduction

The continuous presence of Latino and Hispanic people has existed since 16th century. They have been the part of United States after the 16th century, and they are the longest residing community in the United States after the Native Americans. The first European that have landed on American soil was Juan Ponce de Leon and he landed in United States on 1513. After three decades of his landing, the Spanish were the first people who reached that area and they were first people to reach the Appalachian Mountain. They were also the first people to reach the Mississippi river and Grand Canyon as well as the Great Plains. One thing that has to be kept in mind is that even thought the term Hispanic is commonly used when one is referring to the people of Spanish region, on the other hand, Latino's is the term that I used for the people of brazil and some of the other North American countries.

Discussion

As far as the values are concerned, Hispanic are believed to have strong family values and cultural beliefs. This is something that separates them from the main stream. They have strong values that are inculcated well within their culture. Another thing that is values in the Hispanic culture is that they are hard working people. They have this capacity to emerge as a separate force in the employment market due to which it is believed that they have taken the jobs of the Afro Americans and sometimes it is perceived that they have played a major part in the reduction of Afros in the job market. The Hispanic where the one who were attributed with the distinction that they were the first part of the permanent European settlement that existed in that area. So at the same time , they also have to take care of the European settlements that were mushrooming in the United States.

Language and Demographics

As far as the language demographics of this community are concerned, 40% of the Latino American are people who are immigrants, on the other hand, there are about 60% of the Latino American that are born in USA. The bilingualism is the most important form of communication. As far as the language composition is concerned, about 90% of the Hispanics speak English. 78% of all the Hispanics and Latino Americans are the one who are speaking Spanish. As a matter of fact, Spanish is the oldest Language that is being persisted in United States.

At the moment, the diet of the Hispanic people in the United States of America is influenced by the diet patterns that are at their best, traditional to say the least.
