Cultural empowerment is vital in the field of health care, as it helps care providers to deal and communicate the message with diverse patients effectively. It is important for the care providers to transmit their messages completely, so that care providers can persuade patients to follow the required medical procedures in order to recover from illness (Parsons, 2001). This paper in this connection will examine the case of Dr. Brent Williams, who has been hired for by a sleep clinic where he has to deal with diverse patients. However, Dr. Brent Williams's lack of cultural empowerment has been proven as a barrier in persuading the patients to take the follow the recommended prescription. Regarding the case, this paper will answer the following questions:

What aspects of Dr. Williams' behavior influence the decisions of the families he works with and possible influence the ultimate health outcomes of their children?

What role do culture, ethnicity, race, and socioeconomic status play in families' experiences in the healthcare system?

What factors, other than provider-patient communication, influence disparities in health outcomes?

The case reveal that one day in the clinic Dr. Brent Williams had visited three patients in the clinic. The first patient was a white lady who appeared before the doctor because of his son. The communication that take place between the women and the doctor, had convinced her that the doctor is right and her awareness regarding the medical condition of her child influence her decision to follow the recommended medical procedures for treatment. Doctor Williams also tackles the white women with politeness and which also influence her. However, the other two patients were from other race, one was from Sudan and the other was from Vietnam.
