ABSTRACT

In this study we try to explore the concept of Cultural Competence in a holistic context. The idea behind the conduct and development of this study is to analyze how important cultural competence is. The main focus and concentration on this research would be to understand and develop key issues and expertise, which would help the researcher analyze the trends of cultural competence and its direct and indirect impact on nursing and healthcare. In addition to this, the study also analyzes the various trends which would aid the development and understanding of cultural competence in the discipline of nursing and healthcare and that how does a nurse continue to make way for progress in the realm of healthcare. Finally the research describes various factors which are responsible for cultural incompetence that might arrive in the light of nursing and that how can nurses continue to make way for progress and growth in both health and social setting. With this undertaken, it actually makes way for the development and understanding of the research on a much stronger note.

Culture has, and always will be an important area for all form of structures that currently exist in our society. Be it be on a personal or professional levels, culture and cultural values make an important constituent of any organization or any structure related of human preferences and existence. Culture is particularly important in the realm of healthcare and nursing. These days whenever nurses, doctors, physicians and other practitioners in the area of nursing have specific cultural code and norms that are being practiced.
