Introduction

Globalization has made the shift and mobilization of capital, as well as, other resources quite easier and convenient. The phenomenon has led to expansion of businesses beyond borders. However, such initiates have several components to be managed. Businesses that tend to develop strategies so as to grow beyond borders encounter several problems at their expansion. One of the major differences encountered pertain to the cross cultural management.

The term cross cultural management is defined as “Cross cultural management refers to a system designed to train people in the global business about the variations of cultures, practices and preferences of consumers around the globe”. As the advent of globalization and economic mobilization is enhancing, the concept of differences in management styles is becoming far more essential to the people in the corporate world (Jacob, 2003).

Cross cultural management, is therefore, a layout that pertains to management of people belonging to more than one culture to work for one single company. It encompasses of sensibilities, values, ethnic practices and cultural attributes. The idea behind cross cultural management is to mobilize the capabilities and aligning human competencies irrespective of the effects such variables could cause.

It is evident from the researches that people of same culture are used to follow certain fixed management styles, and therefore, there entire focus remains upon listening to orders in a particular way. They are so particular about the way their management is going to think and therefore, ordain and command them. In a workplace, the managers and leaders are regarded as per their way of managing people that stems out from the cultural inheritance (Jacob, 2003).

The intervention of leadership

Cross cultural management is a widely spoken yet a very complex phenomenon. It takes immense insight of the cultural preferences, as well as, the plan to integrate two different corporate cultures not merely because of their code of conduct but because of their ethnic origin. As a consequence, leadership has a much greater responsibility regarding the management of cross cultural management. It determines whether the company would be a success or a failure after moving into geographic and ethnic vicinity. Leadership pertains to the direction of the business organization to handle cross cultural management, as well as, integrate the differences of two cultures to foster the probability of the success of the organization (Pasmore, 2013).

The paper discusses the case of an organization that expands beyond the borders of the United Kingdom. It discusses the issue of cross cultural management while the company expands in other country, as well as, the role of leadership in that context. The paper explains how to handle cross cultural issues pertaining to the human capital when two or more groups of people are aligned in the workforce of one single organization.
