What's the matter with kids today?

The author has referred to the research conducted by the common core and National Endowment for Arts (NEA). According to their study the young generation of America is getting away from reading habits of literature and history. Young men and women of age in between 13 to 17 do not read, do not write and do not take care of anything around them. According to Doris Lessing who got noble prize in literature, internet is the main reason for this cause. However, this research did not satisfy the author. There are many merits and demerits of internet. Author has focused over the advantages of internet and believes that most of the kids are using the facility of internet in the proper manner. Youngsters have become fast learners due to internet youngsters have become fast learners, and they have not left the habits of reading and writing. Author recommends not praising internet as a negative thing however, it have revolutionized the world and kids of America are taking most advantage of this (Thelen n.d).

As research conducted by the common core and NEA suggests that the teenagers of America are not taking interest in reading and writing of literature. Their reading and writing skills are adversely affected. Globalization and revolution of information and technology and increased use internet have reduced the habit of book reading. There was a time when habit of book reading was very common, and youngsters used to spend most of their time in reading and writing.
