Sampling Design, Data Collection, and Analysis Method

The research design is the most significant part in the research study. Both qualitative and quantitative frameworks are initially considered by the researchers and they determine which method will be the most effective and appropriate for their research (Cutcliffe & Ward, 2007). The quantitative research provides the researchers to test their hypothesis through the statistics methods and provide their findings as the basis of their proof of their hypothesis. While the qualitative research allow the researchers to explore their topic in the past as well as the current researches that have been conducted. As per the nature of the research study, the selected research has been based on the qualitative research. In this research, the researches utilized descriptive design along with the 1 data collection point. The sampling method used in this research is the purposive sampling for the main purpose of attaining a sample which includes both sexes and a wider age range typically for persistent and paroxysmal AF. The sample population selected for the research was 8 men and 7 women who were during the time of the research undergoing treatment with the antiarrhythmic drug or were undergoing therapy for AF (McCabe et al, 2011).

The data collection was done by using interviews as the major instrument. A face to face interview for duration of 45 to 90 minutes was conducted. These interviews were audio taped. Furthermore, after the interviews, the follow up questions were also utilized to assist the researchers in clarification and elaboration. The researcher took field notes of transcripts to make sure that the research is focused on the topic and the common experiences, nonverbal behaviors were also observed. The data analysis was done to determine certain ...
