Perseverance

The term preservance is defined as “the persistent steadiness in adhering to a purpose and a particular course of action regardless of obstacles, difficulties, hindrances and setbacks.” In psychology, it is defined as the repetition of same behavior towards a particular idea or action irrespective of the response of outcome.

Perseverance is a very important component of critical thinking inventory of an individual. It leads an individual to make bold decisions, as well as, pursue difficult, whereas, worthwhile course of action. Individual with higher level of perseverance are those who believe in their own ideas and perception, regardless, of the external validation and therefore, focus upon the attainment of their goals (Terry & Gilbert, 2010). Describe the challenging situation, the obstacles involved and how your thinking allowed you to stick with the task?

The situation comprises of the sudden demise of my mother, being the eldest child; I and my father had to manage the sea of responsibilities she left with us, since she was a very dedicated mother and use to take care of even the most trivial matters. However, soon my father left us on our own whereas, we were left with none but ourselves. My mother was a very loving and kind person, and she wanted her kids to be very good humans and achieve so much in the life.

I took responsibility of my siblings, though I was young but I told them if we work out the situation together, we would actually be able to make out of it. Entire time I only remembered the dreams of my mother she associated with me and the aspirations she cultivated in me, she brought me up with consistent endeavor and my dad was hardly bothered ...
