Ethics encompasses a broad range of studies; and is a major branch of philosophy. It studies the elements of causation and human activities. Human acts that are not done willfully by the individual do not fall under the field of ethics. The issue is vital as the subject is concerned with peoples' choices and their will. For instance, if a person indulges in improper activities and does so under pressure, the act would still be regarded as improper. In a broader perspective, ethics tend to distinguish between right and wrong.
