This paper intends to discuss the basic leadership competencies that will be needed by leaders through the year 2020. The most significant external leadership trends along with those leadership trends that require prominent changes in leadership approaches by 2020 will be explored. Lastly, an overview of employees' outlook will be provided in the paper in terms of expectations, skills and experience. The purpose of this is to make the leader aware about the significance of changes in leadership trends with the passage of time.
