The purpose of writing this letter is to critically evaluate the “petition that was written to the United States' president”. The aim is to let the readers comprehend that how strongly and cautiously the author and other scientists made their arguments against the use of atomic bombs but still the petition was rejected. I want the readers to discern the long term effects that trail the usage of atomic bombs to the United States.

Prior to this assignment, I was only aware of the use of atomic bomb by United States of America. After doing this assignment, my perception has changed. I have become accustomed to viewing this thing from another aspect now.

In the due course of writing this essay, I faced difficulties with the results. I am still in confusion as to why the arguments in the petition were not taken seriously. Personally, I am not much inclined to history and the underlying aspects; therefore it was not one of my most liked assignments. Moreover, thus letter was a little short one; however, finding the ethos, pathos and logos was an interesting part.

I have chosen the article “A Petition to the President of the United States” by Leo Szilard. The purpose behind choosing this was that I was already a little familiar with the subject. I therefore was eager to learn more about the subject area and the effects of this petition. I think I have portrayed all my pertinent feelings and learning regarding this assignment in this letter.
