Introduction

The main purpose of this paper is to act as a briefer and give the company's brief to the new CEO who is about to get hired in the company. The chosen company in this paper is Sysco Corporation. In this paper, a brief overview is given about the company's description, business, history, its operations, locations, customers and competitors. This paper also provides a description of the intentional and unintentional crisis which the company might face. Crisis has been ranked in this paper in accordance with their likelihood of occurrence and recommendations have been provided to deal with this crisis.

Description of Organization

Sysco Corporation is considered to be the biggest distributor of food related products in North America. The company started its operations in 1969 and started its operations as a public company. The company facilitates almost more than 41,000 customers by providing them best quality services. The company makes its operations in food products also in non-food products (Aldrich, 2003).

The lodging industry products of Sysco make distributions of personal care guests' amenities, housekeeping supplies, and textile, equipment and room accessories to the lodging industry. Sysco do not compromise on its quality of products; therefore, the quality assurance team checks the packaging of private brands manufactured for Sysco.

Sysco Corporation's leading business is to make a sale of food related products and then market and distributes these products (Purcell, 2008). Company's home industry is in US, Canada and Ireland.

With Sysco, customers receive everything they need from the front of the house supplies to the heavy duty back room janitorial suppliers. Sysco delivers a one stop source for all the clubs needs (Sysco, 2010). After researching the Sysco Company, I informed Ruben and Lisa that by using the Hanasword ERP system they would be able to take advantage of Sysco's automated ordering system.

Products of the Company

The main products of the company are beverage products, frozen foods, fresh meats, fresh produce, paper and disposables, cleaning supplies, dairy products, imported specialties, restaurant and kitchen equipment and supplies, canned and dry foods, cookware and tableware. Along with these products, Sysco Corporation performs the services of consultancy (Ice, 2001). The company is running its operations under the following brands: Sysco, Classic Sysco, Sysco natural, Sysco supreme, Sysco imperial and Sysco reliance.

Customers and Competitors of the Company

Every company has competitors and Sysco have many competitors in the industry. The main competitors of Sysco Corporation are Performance food Group Company, U.S' food service incorporation, and Gordon food service, Meadowbrook Meat Company Inc., Keystone Foods LLC and Supervalu Inc.

The main customers of the company are health care and educational facilities, food services, restaurants and food service customers. The company also works to facilitate the customers of foodservice and hospitality industries (Douglas, 2005). The company provides its facilities to almost more than 400,000 customers by making operations in 180 distributions.
