Abstract

This study is a reflection of the role of employee empowerment in the crisis management and discusses that is employee empowerment help in limiting the losses. The main emphasis of this study is on the empowerment of the workers as an effective tool in the management of the crisis in addition of the information related to the crisis management. In order to conduct this study, qualitative research method has been selected with secondary research. The data have been collected from different journals, magazines, articles. From the data generated from secondary sources, it has been identified that employee empowerment is the best source which could be helpful in the proper management of crisis and limiting the damages occurred as a result of crisis.

Introduction

Business organisations, whether they are running on the small scale of the large scale can be exposed to the problems and crises at any time. Therefore, it is necessary that the business organisations should develop the possible strategies in order to deal with the negative effects of these crises. These strategies are mainly the plans about the information related to the crisis, successful leadership, and effective communication system, advanced technology and allowing the employees to deal with crises by training (Abbott, 2002, p. 333).

There is a huge effect of the interaction between the management and employment in order to reduce the losses of crises. Employee involvement can be described as the employee's perception about the identity or importance in the work group. There can be different factors defining the involvement of the employees like the Total Quality Management. Employee involvement is sometimes taken as process oriented, although it can also be considered as the motivational system or participative management.

Purpose of the Study

The main purpose of this study is to understand the role of employee empowerment in order to manage the crises. The paper makes emphasis on the phenomenon that the employee empowerment can be very helpful in order to decrease the possible losses as a result of the crises.

Rationale of the Study

This research topic is very effective for me because currently I am working in maintenance fields and always face various kinds of crises during work. However, it is clear that the employee participation cab be helpful for the purpose of dealing with the crises and can result in the reduction of the losses.

This study is very helpful for me in order to understand the relationship between the employee involvement, employee empowerment in order to manage the crisis and exit from the crisis with the least possible losses.
