Crisis Case Management of Alcohol Addict

Nature of the crisis

Gloria, 53 is an independent and fun loving working woman who is proud of being a good cook. The only problem with her was that she is an alcoholic and she does everything on her part to please her family to allow her to drink whenever she wants. She has a trouble married life due to which she couldn't raise her kids well and thus, the drinking problem further added fuel to the fire. She had an abusive husband who did nothing for the family. At the age of 42, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent chemotherapy but didn't stop drinking. She thought she can get away with her daily life problems with drinking. Even after the discovery of breast cancer, she didn't leave her drinking habit.

Now she drinks, misses work as much as possible, neglecting her house and spends all her money on alcohol. Now she is an addicted who has created immense job and house related issues for her resulting in more stress. Her family is sick and tired of her selfishness and now they believe she needs to hold crisis intervention. The crisis through which Gloria is going is of existential nature since it is affecting her emotional and personal life. This is creating stressful and emotional imbalances. Gloria is in a a constant tug of war with herself and might as well feel guilty of destroying her family life.
