Introduction

An article published by BBC, “Crime victims with mental illness ignored, research suggest” suggests that there is a higher chance of mentally ill people being victims of crime. The study also reported that these victims face problems while reporting the case to the police because such cases are often disbelieved. A person with mental illness is more likely to be dismissed for while reporting a crime than a normal person although it is the duty of the police to report every crime (Rock, 2012). This calls for attention as every citizen should enjoy equal access to justice.
