They show it in the movies, read it extensively in John Grisham books and have developed immense interests of the plots in a Criminal Justice System. The movie 'Trial by Jury' is one such example. The movie revolves around a mafia leader who is arrested again and this time the defense lawyer is determined to send him to prison. The jury unanimously agrees that the mafia boss is guilty of charges, but one such juror Valerie Alston, has to make a decision otherwise (Anonymous ,2011). This happens due to the fact that the gang uses its influence through blackmailing her by sending an ex-cop to her home. They force her to talk against the verdict otherwise her younger son will be killed. All the eleven jurors vote him guilty, but Valerie uses her persuasion and one by one she gets others to vote her way. Eventually, Pirone, the crime boss goes free and is declared innocent. The lawyer, Graham is furious at the court's decision and decides to get to the bottom of this. He finds Valerie's role in the verdict and pressures her to tell him about her decision. Valerie stays adamant and feels she has done nothing wrong and had just protected her son like any other mother would. Meanwhile, Piron does not have enough of her, and he makes sexual encounters with her with continuous threats against her life. The encounters are found by Wanda, who gets jealous of Pirones new encounters with Valerie. She attempts to kill her, but the ex-cop Vessey gets in the middle of the encounter and saves Valerie. The criminals are breaded by these agencies many at times. The influence is so strong that whoever comes in their way meets harmful consequences (Anonymous ,2011).
