Abstract

The research identifies two crimes with respect to their potential to be addressed. The two crimes are juvenile delinquency and homicides. The research highlights the increasing trend in both of the crimes and the need to address them for their prevention. However, homicide is a difficult crime to address. On the other hand, the research suggests that the president can address juvenile delinquency through effective prevention programs.

Introduction

One of the responsibilities of the politicians is to protect their citizens from crimes and violence, which can result in significant monetary and human loss. The United States is no exception because the crime rate in the country is extremely high. There are a number of crimes that take place in different parts of the country, which include robbery, rape, juvenile crime, homicides, fraud etc. However, there are two crimes, which can be defined as the easiest and difficult to address, especially with respect to the President. These crimes are Homicides, which is the difficult to address and Juvenile delinquency, which is the easiest to address for the President.

Thesis Statement

It is significant for politicians to address one or more crimes for the protection of their citizens.

Aims and Objectives

The aim and objective of this research is to identify two crimes, which are difficult and easies to address respectively.

Crime #1

The usual ratio reveals that the FBI violent crimes increased by 1.9% in the country, surpassing the surprise of the worst predictions of experts. In 2006, there were over 1.4 million incidents of murder, robberies, aggravated assaults and robberies committed in America, on average one case every 22 seconds or 473.5 cases per 100 000 inhabitants. In 2005, the increase was 18%, approximately 15,000 episodes in the previous year, when the complaints were about one million and 360 thousand. The murder cases were 17,034 units, 18% more than 2010 and at 12% of total violent crimes committed in the United States. Approximately 90% of cases were recorded in metropolitan areas, while nationwide the average is 5.7 murders per 100,000 persons (Elliott, 2008).

Characteristics

Murder is committed when a person kills another person with the intention of murder or to cause "severe body injuries”. The murderer is entitled to a life sentence of an adult. The length of the sentence, in fact, will depend on individual circumstances. This issue relates to how the offense was committed and whether the defendant was previously convicted.

Prevalence

Prevalence of homicides can be the result of rampant use of firearms, found in almost all categories of violent crime, to worry more citizenship and the authorities, proposing an ongoing debate for years about freedom in the sale of rifles and pistols. The prevalence of homicides is also due to the psychological behavior of the people involved in homicides and other motives such as greed, revenge, robbery, assault, psychological disorder etc.
