Crime Scene Investigation Effect

Abstract

This study aims to explore the concept of “crime scene investigation” in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on “crime scene” and the “evidence traced through from it”. The research also analyzes many aspects of “crime scene investigation” and tries to enlighten the procedure of investigation to accumulate “evidence” for analysis. Finally the research describes various factors that may lead a “crime scene investigation” to its success and tries to explore the procedure of investigation for “tracing evidence”.

Crime Scene Investigation Effect

Introduction

This initial phase is capital for the subsequent success of the investigation. Inquiries should be rigorous, meticulous and techniques. At the beginning of this, there is always a physical point. Being a homicide is the location of the body, even if it has been displaced. If a theft by breaking and entering, the place visited by criminals, in a robbery, the scene of the attack, and so on. Sometimes the physical point has not been discovered when the investigation has begun. This is the case of the missing persons, for example. Other times it is difficult to detect. At the time of an attack with a large explosive charge, the size of the chipped area impedes the search. However, it is necessary to discover the exact spot where the explosive burst. Noting the soil can eventually locate the crater then an investigator can scan the ceiling to detect the site of a major explosion (Saks & Koehler, 2010).

In practice must move away from this place all persons useless or no longer needed, who are involved first, firefighters, paramedics, uniformed police officers, witnesses, journalists and curious. One must create a secure perimeter, at the very heart of a larger security zone and to substantially limit the number of researchers. The preliminary investigator assigned to those not taking part in inspections, directives that allow research to begin to emerge into the spiral. Direct witnesses must be preserved immediately, separating them from the curious, the neighbors and the press. After a brief verbal statement, we must lead either to a local police or other isolated place, to take as soon as their testimony in writing (Heilbronner, 2005).

Thus having addressed the situation, must be obtained from those involved first specifying the alterations that occurred in the scene, and manipulated by medical personnel away from debris and objects that are not put back in place. Nobody touch anything (Rule of Gold), or move on protected areas before the arrival of the Technical Police. The Golden Rule refers to the scene of the crime and says "Do not touch, change or alter anything, or allow someone else to do until the scene has been documented, measured and photographed, it depends largely on the success or failure (Sullivan, Agardy, Traub, 2001).

In the second phase, researchers have gathered as much information about the facts, context, victims and their environment. They are now able to reach the second phase of ...
