America is one of the largest countries in the world that not only leads in the economics and finance sectors around the world, but also in the sector of crime. The number of crimes committed per year in the United States of America has also increased with its economic development. Though the literacy rate in America is high, yet, the rate of crime is high in America due to the fact that there is a shortage of relevant jobs in the United States that leads the youth towards committing crime. Another important factor that increases crime in America is the gang culture in this country. This culture proves very costly, as it is the source of approximately 80% of the total crimes being committed in the United States of America. Some crimes committed by these gangs are very high in percentage, such as robbery, rape and murders, which gives America an edge in the crimes being committed in America, when compared with crimes being committed in other countries of the world. American government has taken many steps within the acceptable limits in order to reduce the crime rate, but they have been unable to fulfill their objective of doing so, due to some factors, which the government of America has neither highlighted nor tried to work on, such as, the lack of availability of jobs for the youth in the country and the increasing trend of the gang culture in United States. There are a large number of criminal activities being reported in the United States of America. These criminal activities vary with the medium and the seriousness of the criminal activity. The crime that is reported for the majority of times and is the most common type of criminal activity within United States of America is rape. This type of crime is mainly initiated by the criminals because of different types of activities of the media that tries to promote sex appeals of these criminals. Other crimes that are at its peak when talking about the criminal activities in the United States of America are digital crime, white collar crime and the crime related to drugs. These crimes have very high percentage in United States, when compared to other world.
