Introduction
My dream job is to be an owner of a daycare centre. The company offers care for children aged between 0 to 12 years. The daycare centre offers full-day learning care. Daycare centre is committed to provide a good, effective and secure program of daycare for children while functions in accordance with all relevant procedures, policies and law. This assignment creates a job description and specifications, designs compensation and benefits package and performance appraisal program for the owner of daycare centre.
Job Description and Specifications
Purpose of the Designation
The owner of the Daycare centre is responsible for offering a developmentally and secure programs of daycare for children aged between 2 to 12 years.
Job Scope
The Daycare owner will be responsible to supervise planning and implementation of care programs, and ensures that these programs fulfill needs of children and meet expectations of parents.
Key Job Responsibilities
Being an owner of Daycare centre, my key responsibilities include:
Streamlining of all procedures and policies of the Daycare centre
Maintenance of all financial and business records, including payroll, insurance coverage and accounts (Freeman, Decker & Decker, 2012).
Enrollment and Tours
Maintain Daycare license
Supervise purchase of order equipment and supplies
Recruitment, termination and retention of employees
Oversee staff development and curriculum
Chair quarterly meetings with parents and monthly meetings with staff
Review and purchase material and resources for teaching and teachers
Emphasis and offers continuous learning and development of children and teachers
Keep parents informed of about development of each and every child
Create a marketing plan to expand business and contingency plan for survival.
Desired KSA (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Daycare owner must have knowledge and understanding about:
Culture difference and its influence on children learning
Understanding about children safety
Relevant procedures, policies and legislation about children care
Theories and practices of child development (Nazir, Shah & Zaman, 2012).

Design a Compensation and Benefits Package
Compensation and benefit package is traditional and the most important way employed by organization to attract and retain top potential employees. Compensation and benefit package must be based on competitive pay and in line with market equity to match with the Daycare industries. This package for Daycare owner will be based on strategic pay structure, which refers that salary will be based on future goals and direction of the Daycare, while recognizing and rewarding employee performance.
The compensation and benefit packages will be classified into three categories: Salary, rewards and benefits (Murphy & Sandino, 2010).
