Introduction

The world of psychology is full of different theories which are focused towards understanding the mind map of the subject and develop treatments accordingly. Moreover, all these theories have their unique and different approaches and each of them look at different modules and domains of the human mind. Like every other field of study, different approaches and theories have their relevant advantages and disadvantages and this is what makes some of them my most favorite and some least preferable. In order to better understand about the different theories and the reasons behind their preference of rejection; an in depth discussion regarding the relevant factors is required.

Favorite Theory: Behavior Theory

This section is based on the combination of different theories which are all targeted towards understanding the behaviors of different human beings and work towards changing those behaviors. The basic idea behind behavioral theory is that through the help of behavior related therapies, the problems of the mind and human behavior could be solved accordingly (Kazantzis, Reinecke & Freeman, 2010). The reasons due to which this is my favorite theory include:

These theories and relevant therapies help in changing the behavioral problems of individuals in both short and long terms.

The relevant therapy provides the subject a chance of exposure and opening up with the person treating.

The confidence level of the subject is boosted through continuous discussions and counseling.

These therapies actually help the patient in getting better in reality rather than merely providing a fantasy based sense of being healthy and fine.

These theories look at the human mind as being open to adaptation and changes which is an extremely important requirement of evolution.

Least Favorite Theory: Existential Theories
