Introduction

This paper intends to expound the cosmic creation myths from two entirely distinctive cultures and how the world created by the creators of that culture and how the cosmic phenomena occurs and in the last, the study aims to conclude both of the myths by comparing them with respect to their differences and similarities in creating the cosmic world.

There are myriad mythologies represented by different cultures with the aim to explain their existence in the cosmos similarly, the Egyptians and the Incas also generated their myths with the attempt to extenuate their position during the creation of the cosmos and the entire universe.

Discussion

The Atum: The Egyptian Creator

In the Egyptian myth, there was only water present in the universe with the swirling watery chaos which was termed as the Nu. The Egyptian creator, Atum rose out of that chaotic water using his will and thoughts. Atum is considered as the important deity in the Egyptian mythology as the name itself represents the meaning to complete or finish that shows that he was the one who completed and created the world. He was the self created deity who emerged from the watery chaos that actually girdled the time before the creation of cosmos. Atum created his son Shu, the god of air by spitting him out and daughter Tefnut , the goddess of moisture, from his vomit. They both then continued to create the other gods by setting up the social order such as for that purpose, Shu developed the Principles of Life while Tefnut created the Principles of Order. After some time, both of them got disappeared in the watery chaos of Nu. However, Atum sent his eye which was actually removable to search out for his children in the chaos. ...
