Contemporary Ballet History

Contemporary ballet is the form of dance influenced by both classical ballet and modern dance. It takes its technique and use of pointework ballet, although it allows the greater range of movement that can not adhere to strict body lines set forth by schools of ballet technique. Many of its concepts from ideas and innovations of 20th century modern dance, including floors, ballet movements and andturn legs. (Carol 58)

Contemporary Ballet, best known for Modern Ballet, which was created at beginning of century and still retains use of boards and still very close gestuais Ballet. In this style of dance choreography start having different ideologies. There is the story that follows the logical sequence of events, but many ballet steps mixed with feelings. Early portions preceded invention of proscenium stage and presented in large chambers with most of audience seated in tiers or galleries on three sides of dance floor. Since then it has become the very technical form of dance with its own vocabulary. This is primarily done with accompaniment of classical music and has been influential as the form of dance worldwide. Ballet is taught in ballet schools around world, using their own cultures and societies to inform art. Ballet dance works (ballets) are choreographed and performed by trained artists, including mime and acting, and set to music (usually orchestral but occasionally vocal). It is the style of dance about incorporating fundamental techniques for many other dance forms.

This kind of dance is very difficult to master and requires practice. It is best known in form of late Romantic Ballet and Ballet Blanc, which is concerned with dancer to exclusion of almost everything else, focusing on pointe work, flowing, precise acrobatic movements, often presenting of dancers in conventional short white tutu French. Later developments include expressionist ballet, neoclassical ballet and elements of modern dance.
