Amendment

Amendments are made in a constitution to further improve the constitution in order to protect the rights of people from various groups and sects. It helps the society solve various social issues, that in other case become very problematic. Amendments make the right adjustment and requirements needed in a constitution. American constitution has also gone through various Amendments that has helped them to solve various issues.

Bill of Rights

In America, Blacks and minorities faced several issues as they faced discrimination in all areas of life and they were treated very poorly. They did not had any participation in government, economic activities, and people were treated badly as they did not get their basic rights. Unemployment among Blacks were common and it led to severe social issues. They raised their concerns over the issue and there were conflicts among the people that had to be resolved through the amendments in the constitution.

The amendments to the Constitution of the US are in terms of the Bill of Rights. These amendments limit the power of the federal government and guarantee rights and freedoms of individuals. The rights and freedoms that the Charter of Rights guarantees are the following: freedom of expression, freedom of assembly, freedom of appeal, freedom of religion, and the right to bear and own arms, with the authority to be at without charge unreasonable seizures and searches, or at unusual and punishment cruel, the right not to testify against oneself, to due process, speedy trial by an impartial jury and local levels. In addition, there is a reservation in the Bill of Rights, as the enumeration in the Constitution, of guaranteed privileges, shall not be interpreted to disparage or deny others engaged by the populace. There shall be no violation of any law, with respect to prohibiting the free exercise, an establishment of religion or thereof, or condensing the independence of the press or speech. In a similar way, there should be the right of people peaceably to assemble and to petition the government for restore of accusations. These provisions were applicable on all the members of society irrespective of their cast and ethnicity.

Second Amendment

The notion of the right to bear arms is one of the most debated issues on the legal as well as the political front in America. The Bill of Rights supports this particular right in the form of Second Amendment to the American Constitution. The Second Amendment has some advantages and disadvantages. The debate regarding the credibility of the amendment still continues to haunt the common American citizens. In this paper, we discuss the historical development of Second Amendment and its overall impact on the practice of bearing arms; a trend that still continues (Kates, 2007).
