I am a recent graduate in the field of health care and I have been applying in a hospital of California for a job soon. The salary indictor has provided me with an understanding of my actual worth. Te average salary of a nurse practitioner in California hospitals is calculated to be $ 105, 000. While I compared the statistics with the other regions of the United States, I came to know that the average salaries of the nurse practitioners in California are 10 % higher than the salaries of nurse practitioners in other cities, regions and states of United States. In Florida, the average salaries of the nurse practitioners are calculated to be $ 91, 000 which is lower than that of California nurse practitioners. Whereas in Los Angeles, the salary of current nurse practitioners is found to be an average of $ 99, 000 which is also less than the California nurse practitioners but higher than the Florida nurse practitioners. In North Carolina, the salary for the same post is $ 95, 000 which is 11 % higher than that of California. From this assessment, I realized that my worth is more than the other nurse practitioners working in different states of America. The assessment also reveals that it is the average salary of nurse practitioners and the maximum possible salaries provided to the nurse practitioners in California is near to $ 120, 000. However, this is the maximum amount being paid to the nurse practitioners in California. The hospitals and clinics in California tend to provide higher salaries to the nurse practitioners (Salary Indicator, 2013).
