Innovation in the motion picture industry can be traced from the screening of first projected motion picture in 1895 by Lumiere brothers. Since then this media is consistently evolving and taking new shape. All these innovations are being introduced merely to entertain the audiences and it would be wise to claim that the intention of this media has been accomplished to a large extent. Catharsis is one of the major factors of the success of this media, which is why doors for innovation are still open for this media. Animation is among the crucial milestones for film media as it has also attracted significant portion of world populations towards itself. This study would compare five different animated movies and analyze them in order to highlight the difference between them. This study would be useful for the students, young filmmakers and other person associated with this business, because this study would not only limit its context to differences but would also highlight the significance of using any particular method of animation.
Animation
The animation in general allows us to carry out fictitious situations that in reality could not be imitated, e.g., a dog becomes a dinosaur. The animation does not help to imitate the activity of daily and real life which seems impossible even in this domain. In the case of 3d I think that has two main functions: one is the creation of an entirely fictional world which has its own rules and a well written story no matter how much fantasy or unrealistic elements it includes in it which is intenteded to generate catharsis effects, for instance Toy history, Cars, Ice Age, etc. most films are the good example of the animation. The other main feature observed in the 3D is to help in some films produced in live action to see its effects are spectacular but only as a supplement, such as: X-Men, Fantastic 4, etc. what could not be achieved entirely with the 3D live action programs like 3Dmax and Maya is already done so hyper. (Zhang, 2007)
It does not seem appropriate even for the directors to make a full movie based on animation with people trying to be real, such as Polar Express, where imitation is the Tom Hanks character in animated. In this case perhaps animators wanted to avoid paying an actor who probably charge them a lot, but there is no data available regarding the production cost of the film, but for me this would have worked better in live action. The downside that I see 3D is having with itself is just based on when filmmakers want to reality they may not be able to do this and the film may lost its original essence.
Process of Film Animation
Film animation brings together all the cinematographic techniques using views taken image by image to artificially create the movement. The magic of this illusion of movement comes from an imperfection of the ...
