Summary of the events

The three events highlighted in the neighborhood season 2, episode 5, mainly deal with the effects of the smoke and fire (that broke in the neighborhood forest) and in addition, the same also provides information regarding the science fair hosted by the Middle School. According to the report, the forest fire kept burning for a couple of days and the firefighters were rendered unable to put that off, mainly due to the unfavorable winds and the extra airy season. It is eminent to mention here that that season had received more than expected wind and air, and the same was thus causing further spread of the fire.

The same issue (spread of the fire) was causing problems for the patients and the health care workers, as the smoke was depriving the patients of fresh air and thus is preventing them from getting well soon. Moreover, the lung patients are additionally suffering as the haze in the air was causing them to remain confined indoors and thus get more infections and issues. The smoke and haze was also increasing the number of patients in the hospitals and clinics and thus was creating as shortage of the health care workers. Meanwhile, irrespective of the negative situation prevailing in the area, the middle school had organized a science fair for the students as well as their parents, which was expected to increase the confidence level of students by providing them with an opportunity to display their talent and skills.

Examination of the actions of health care workers

It should be taken into account that emergency management was an important as well as essential aspect of communities and the same should be kept in consideration while highlighting the role of health care workers. In this case, the health care workers played their part by providing the necessary information to the citizens and informing them about the latest situation and the preventive measures. It is eminent to mention here that the fire was spreading due to unforeseen circumstances and thus was making it difficult for the health care worker to handle the situation. Although the reports claimed that the fire was not contained, it was expected to cause an increase in the prevailing health concerns and related issues. The concerned officials and the healthcare workers, however, claimed that they would inform the citizens about the prevailing issues and problems before hand, thus they played an essential part in emergency management by providing the required information as well as preventive measures to the citizens.

Keeping in view the news and the neighborhood events mentioned above, the health care workers played an active part in increasing the health facilities for the general public.
