Community Policing

The local police department that I selected for researching was the Brownsville Independent School District Police Department and Security Services. This department was created in 1992. The department promises to encourage safety, leadership skills, health, good character, cultural and educational awareness. The department is committed to the maintenance and preservation of human rights, protection of property, as well as to the maintenance of discipline and peace within the community (Miller, Hess, & Orthmann, 2011).
