In this context, behind every health story in the community, there is a complex set of factors that determine whether people are “as healthy as possible.” A health assessment in the community like Cherokee County, is a dynamic process monitoring undertaken to determine the strengths and needs of the community, allow prioritization in health that are applicable to the entire community and cause action to improve health and quality of life of the community

Cherokee County is one of the Provinces of Oklahoma in the United States of America. Cherokee County was founded in 1907 and named after the Indians Cherokee, is a county of the U.S. state of Oklahoma. In the year 2000 had a population of 42,251 inhabitants with a population density of 22 persons per km.

The Cherokee adopted much European culture. They dressed much like Whites and used European tools. But, they also kept their language, stories, songs and dances many of their foods and some of their religion. In a way they lived in both Indian and European cultures.
Social Environment
The Cherokee were in contact with Europeans for 200 years before coming to Texas. These Europeans were the most important thing in their social environment. The Whites around them in Georgia, Alabama and Carolina were hostile and took Cherokee lands. Another way they adapted to their social environment was by adopting European technology and lifestyles.
Interpretation of Collected Data
The part of study is related to interpretation of collected data of Cherokee County that involves the strategies of engaging with the community. The Cherokee County community needs the public health nurse to identify community health issues and be able to address the issues. The public health nurse develops nursing care plans not just for individuals; a care plan that addresses how the Cherokee County community can prevent health issues. The purpose of this part of study is to identify strategies of engaging with the community in context of Cherokee County which focuses on the stroke as a community health issue related to some of the healthy people.
