Introduction

The community Emergency Response Team (CERT) agenda has the aim to educate people about the disasters that occur naturally or unnaturally and to prepare themselves to face such hard time and the hazards that may put an impact on them through trainings and basic disaster reactive skills. These trainings include fire safety, rescue, and search for light when you are buried in darkness, managing and organizing teams and groups and medical operations. With the training and skill development classes that have been taken in these trainings help a person to assist his neighborhood and friends in guiding and helping them when some disaster happens with them. Their skill can also be helpful at their workplace where they can guide their workmates and co workers. Community Emergency Response Team members are also encouraged to support disasters preparedness plans in their locality.

When there is some disaster that causes so much destruction we always expect everybody around us to help us, such expectations can be seen during the earthquakes, tsunamis, flood and many other disaster when people want to be supported and helped by others. When professional emergency teams could not reach the point of disaster, then common people like us help the sufferers. In order to help and rescue the people facing these disasters in quick time so that no one would lose his life, we need to be trained enough to know the best and quickest way to go with. And this skill comes with the trainings provided by Community Emergency Response Teams. The Community Emergency Response Team course will benefit in many ways to the person who takes it. This way that person will be better trained and alert to respond to and manage the destruction caused due to disaster (Chen et.al, 2008, pp. 70).

Discussion

Huge investments are made on Community Emergency Response Teams project. Government thinks for the safety of its people and during worst case scenario or in the case of natural disasters when it becomes difficult for the professionals to reach on time or at every place where the disaster has caused damaged then such teams like Community Emergency Response Teams become really useful. Almost one hundred and twenty million dollars have been spent on this project. This project has it major benefits to the community but also it has its limitations.
