Community can be defined as a small social unit or group of social units that shares common values. Community development is concerned with the establishment of common values and nature which is shared by the members of community. The evolution of community is explained by the social units interacting and sharing a populated environment. Thus, it can be stated that these units share the tendency to live in social orders which forms the communities. The complex nature of communities is determined by the diverse and dynamic environment of these units. The definitions of community depend on the field of study. It represents the group or social units which interact or share common characteristics and values. The issues and challenges faced in understanding the complex nature of communities arise when the organisms or units demonstrate complicated characteristics such as human beings. There are various assortments of people such as people with disabilities, individuals from ethnic minorities, voyagers, detainees, healing center patients, mind inhabitants, unemployed, homeless, and provincially disconnected. This variety and mixture of characteristics defines the communities and its complex nature.

The dynamic and diverse environment of communities is established by the units. The people in communities socialize and interact according to their values and attitudes which make the nature of communities more diverse than simple organisms. People belong to different backgrounds and vary in beliefs, values, culture, and other aspects (Hoinville, 1971). They communicate with others in the community in their own manner which makes the community more rich and diverse. The relationship between the diversity and people depends on the variation in background and culture. The nature of diversity is determined by various factors and perspectives including religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender, age, disability, socio economic status, demographics, environment, housing, and lifestyle. These factors shape the diversified nature of community.

The dynamic and assorted environment of communities is secured by the individuals. The individuals in communities standardize and connect consistent with their qualities.
