The community health nurse's function is to promote healthy lifestyles, prevent disease, and protect the health of the community. Implementing policies and programs in partnership and collaboration with other agencies within the community may expedite attaining the goals set for the Healthy People 2020. Nurses educating the community on nutrition, physical activity, environmental health, safety, and preventive health screenings will decrease the percentages of disease processes within the community (Healthy People, 2012).
Carol Ramsey
Carol Ramsey is working additionally as a public nurse health. She is a community nurse who is working for Public nurse as well because one of the midwife took leaves and is away from duty for the next few months. Thus Carol's role can be identified as both community an dpublic nurse due to additional patiest she had on her list (Carol Ramsey, 2013) .
Violet Brinkworth
Violet Brinkworth is a 41 year old nurse who is working for Neighbourhood Public School system. As her husband is away on trips she had joined 2 other schools as well to provide nursing facilities. From her role she is a community health nurse because she is catering to the nursing needs of the specific community schools rather than the whole population. She is still not satisifed due to increasing nursing needs of the schools (Violet Brinkworth, 2013).
Karen Williams
Karen Williams works at Neighbourhood for Senior Center for 5 years. Karens position is supported by the funds from the city budget. She is provided information along with sdpervising nursing students. She is public health nurse because she is catering to the needs of the population which are not limited to the specific community. Her funds are allocated by the city budget. The evidence clearly explains that the she is public health nurse (Karen Williams, 2013).
