Form of Communication in Business
The two fundamental forms of communication includes one way and two way communication processes. One way communication in business refers to the process of communication in which a company sends message to either its employees or customers only to inform them but do not entertain any response or feedback from them (Rosner, Halcrow & Levins, 2001). This form of business communication is normally practiced when companies intend to inform customers regarding any product or service. The most common example of this form of business communication is advertising, like billboards, pamphlets or newspaper advertisement (Rai & Rai, 2010).
In business communication, two-way communication takes place when customers are provided the opportunity to respond to any message sent by the company. With the advent of internet, two way communications has become an important tool to receive responses from customers and employees regarding any message (Guffey, 2000). Social media marketing is one important tool for two way communication, which has become popular because it not only give the privilege to businesses for responding with their existing customers, but it also helps companies to obtain feedback regarding their products and services from potential customers (Rai & Rai, 2010).
Impacts of business communication
When business and customers can contact each other utilizing different modes of communication, certainly it leaves positive or negative impact on the sales directly depending upon the impact of business (Guffey, 2000). In this context, it is important for business to send every message to their customers after determining its impact on them. However, most of the businesses are aware about the impact of communication on sales, and thus utilize different modes of communication to not only increase brand loyalty among customers but to attract and acquire new customers (Hartley & Bruckmann, 2002). In relation to this, businesses must ensure effective communication while engaging with their customers, which will ultimately help businesses to boost its sales.
