Scope Overview

MS project assists teams and individuals by providing project management tools for managing their projects. Projects are exceptional effort exert towards accomplishing certain goals, projects defines an objective, a starting and ending point, and along with that a budget has also to be allocated for financing the project. The objectives of the project have to be clear. Project management is the capability to utilize the available resources efficiently and to overcome the constraints associated with the project such as budget, time and quality, effectively. To accomplish these goals skills and experience is required. Managing a project requires planning for making the most with the available resources. The project is to organize a parade for the troops returning from Iraq, however funds are needed to be acquired immediately within a short timeframe, and along with these certain other challenges are to be faced to make this project a successful one, such as the security issues, teams need to coordinate together to overcome these issue and ensure that the objectives of the project are achieved efficiently.

Business Case The objective of the case is to determine how the teams will be able to organize and manage the resources in a short time period. Monetary resources and funds are also lacking that needs to be gathered from external sources as the city could not fund the event. However stakeholders have made certain to provide the money that is required, it has been decided that lunch will be provided to the troops at the very last minute therefore team are now faced with another challenge. For managing the project effectively things need to remain under control once the planning has been done and the plan has been executed to achieve the set targets it is significant to monitor the progress of the project to ensure that everything has been done exceptionally. Setting an objective for the project is crucial for making the project a successful one, as it provides a direction to the members working towards achieving a common goal, a path can be defined that is needed to be followed to make things happen and accomplishing the target. The success of this particular project of Colorado Home Parade will be based on the teams being able to accomplishing their goal of arranging a welcome home parade for the troops that re returning from Iraq, and providing with a delightful experience and wonderful memories to cherish.

Background (optional)

The Colorado Home parade was scheduled on the 5th of 2004. A number of teams coordinated together to make the event a successful one. Efforts were made to gather sufficient resources required for organizing the event.
