Evaluation/Assessment

The US government- Federal Depository Programs provides services and access to the public and community as required by the law. All the documents that are tangible are marked clearly with depository stamp, a list of shipping dates and the number documents. Outdated documents are held back and withdrawn, while other documents are reviewed for the retention for at least five years. The assessment and review is and ongoing process. Al the depository data that includes the online resources are represented in a form of catalog available online and is also available for circulation after a short time of its arrival at the Library. (Peggy, 2009) Assessment is done to evaluate the holdings and the activities carried under collection development.

Collection development policy statements

The Government Library is dedicated to meet the diversification and circulation of the information. In the environment of open and free inquiry with a commitment to excellence, the US Library participates in the communication of process in order to promote leaning skills and continuous achievement. The policy of collection development stresses upon the access to the information and resources.

Budgeting

The budget is used for the development of goals and objective either online or print that are supposed to be established in the next fiscal year. The supervisor of Collection Development is responsible for the allocation of funds as per the requirement in different regions of knowledge of the media and collection. If the material that is bought from outside the country, then the value on the rate of change in the country that is purchasing is considered to is a significant factor kept in minds while allocating the funds.
