With increase in technological advancements the life quality and life span of individuals suffering from congenital heart disease have increased considerably and now several individuals with congenital heart diseases are able to live up to adulthood provided that proper care is taken and health promotion is advocated. Health promotion is an approach to enable set of population to exert control over the health-care determinants in order to enhance their well-being and healthiness. As an idea and predefined set of pragmatic practices, it is a vital guide in dealing with the leading health care challenges encountered by developed and developing countries among which congenital diseases are of lead value.

Congenital Heart Diseases
Congenital heart diseases are most common type of birth defects. It refers to the flaw and imperfection in the structure of heart or the blood vessels associated with it which occurs before the birth. The flaw can be found in one or more structures in the heart that helps it to function properly, pumping the blood smoothly. There are numerous types of heart diseases, majority of these obstruct the flow of blood into or out of the heart causing abnormal pattern of blood flow.
Coronary heart diseases are the major types of congenital heart defect that occur; Truncus Arteriosus is one among them. Coronary arteries are the blood vessels that supply blood to the heart through network of blood vessels. It supplies the heart with oxygen and nutrition essential for normal functioning of the heart cells. The blood provides essential nutrients and oxygen that the heart muscles, myocardium need to pump the blood to entire body. The coronary heart disease develops when the coronary artery becomes diseased or damaged.
