Introduction

This paper intends to discuss the different aspects of Cold War. The presidential doctrine will be defined in order to provide a brief outlook of the Cold War. Also, the summary of the regional and other global events that took place during the Cold War will be provided. The formation of the presidential doctrine resulted in the leading events of the Cold War. The country that I have selected in Assignment One is Russia and this paper will also revolve around the same country. This paper will describe the relationship between Russia and United States of America before the presidential doctrine was announced. Further, the paper will also explore the underlying effect that the presidential doctrine has had on regional or global affairs since the Cola War was announced. Also, an assessment will be made about how the presidential doctrine intended the effect of altering the behavior of the country of Russia since the doctrine was first announced.

Presidential Doctrine

Within the creation of Presidential Doctrine and its tactical changes, the importance of tank destroyers cannot be undermined. The Cold War gave rise to the concept of tank destroyers within the battlefields for the purpose of dealing with the trench warfare. Like other armors, and underlying methods to reduce the impact of these armors, Russians were keen to find ways to destroy the tanks. The fact that Russians possessed extremely extensive armor resources gave Russia an upper hand in developing aggressive and tactical war doctrines (Watson, Gleek & Grillo, 2003).

Summary of the Regional and Global Events

All these distinguished elements allowed the Russians to focus on isolating and confusing the enemies and thus reaching the intended results. The basic foundations for all these tactics have been utilized in the counter insurgencies aspect as being the most significant part of the elastic defense. All these strategies were related to evolving one change into another respectively. The Army of Russia developed specialized troops in the form of significant battalions (Arnold & Weiner, 2012).

Battalions remain the most integral part of the Presidential doctrine. Storm Battalions were provided with significant equipment, specialized training and opportunities to organize various divisions across the battlefield. Moreover, heavy machine guns, flame thrower section and infantry gun batteries were provided to the Presidential doctrine battlefield had various storm battalion groups. Each group used to have two squads having different soldiers and different weapons (Young, 2000).

Relationship of Russia and United States of America before the Presidential Doctrine

The counter attacks and counter insurgencies were utilized to isolate the enemy at core. The Presidential Doctrine did not focused on importance of ground immensely. Moving on to the developments of 1918, the significance of offensive tactics remains extremely important. The tactics employed in relation with the offensive strategies fascinated many non Russian people as well. Names like Hutier Tactics and Storm Troop Tactics have been utilized to refer to the various aspects of the Doctrine.
