Introduction

This part of the paper introduces to the concept of cohabitation in a holistic context. It presents with some facts including the marriage facts of baby boomers in the 1960s and 1970s as well as refers to the NCHS data to mention the existence and success of the concept of cohabitation. The study by demographers Larry Bumpass and James Sweet is also mentioned to drive attention to the authenticity of the claims made and the data provided.
