Introduction

The main purpose of this paper is to develop the journals reflecting the opinions from the book Cognitive Science by Jose Luis Bermudez Prompts. The paper is a description of different ideas and opinions on the basis of the book of Jose Luis and provide an opinion of changing in the thinking and cognitive knowledge.

What do you make of the common phrase “we don't come from monkeys”?

From the common phrase “we don't come from monkey” I get that human beings are not originated and evaluated from monkeys. It is just a wrong perception that human beings come from monkeys (Abraham, 1992, p. 34). There are various evolution theories claiming that human beings come from monkeys but after reading the Joes concept I believe that human beings do not come from monkeys and it is just the wrong perception.

Why is language important? How is it related to the mind?

From this reading I have understand that there is a great importance of language. The language is very much related to mind because it is mainly derived from the brain functioning. From this lecture I have learnt that the mind transforms the grammar into the mechanical algorithms and work for the conversion of symbols. The language is mainly associated with the cognitive tasks which are the main function of the mind (José, 2010, p. 12). The language is the main result of the algorithms thus, there is a great link and association of the language with the mind.

In your opinion, what was wrong with behaviorism?

In my view, behaviorism has mainly been the main area of interest in psychology field. The main issue with the behaviorism is that it is mainly based on psychologists study related to the measurable behavior and avoidance of the various unobservable mental states including the thought, belief and desire. The main issue with the concept of behaviorism is that it mainly focuses on the re-inforcer's responses and ignores the rotation and the planning.

Why communication and information are important concepts for the cognitive sciences? Explain.

Cognitive science mainly refers to the science of mind. Therefore, I believe that there is a great role of the communication and information in the cognitive sciences (Cacioppo, 2002, p. 34). The communication and the information help in the generation of knowledge and thus enhancing the cognitive abilities of a human being. Jose has described it with the use of mental architecture. As per the Jose's opinion the information and the communication helps in developing the sensory input and its motor output. Therefore, there is a great importance of communication and information in the cognitive sciences.
