Driving Standards Agency

DSA- Driving Standards Agency represents the Approved abide by Approved Driving Instructors. There are many areas of legislative requirements and codes of practice that abide DSA. To gain entry to the regular prospective instructors must pass a series of examination administrated by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA). The code of practice set out here has been agreed by the DSA and the main bodies representing ADIs, it is a frame work within which all instructors should operate. Then main area that relates to my work as a driving instructor is as follows.

The DSA is a professional body for driving instructors, learners and for theory and practical driving and riding tests.

As a driving instructor I will have to behave in a professional manner at all times to the pupils. The pupils should be treated with respect and consideration also avoids any physical contact with them except in an emergency or in the normal cause of greeting. Also, not act in any way which contravenes legislation or discrimination.

Test Application with Special Requirements

The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) provides a number of facilities for people with specific needs, these include foreign language voiceovers, extra time, sign language interpretation and translator assisted British tests.

The Race Relations Act 1976 prohibits discrimination on grounds of colour, race, nationality, and ethnic or national origin. It applies to discrimination in education, employment, housing and the provision of goods, services and facilities with regard to education it makes it unlawful to discriminate on racial grounds in undertaking am local authority or school functions under the various Education Acts.

The Discrimination Act 1975 and the 1986 Amendment prohibits discrimination on grounds of sex with regard to employment practices In relation to schools it states in Section 22 that it is unlawful for the responsible body' to discriminate against a girl or boy on the ground of sex. This relates to admissions (exception—single-sex schools), access to benefits, facilities or services, and exclusions. Both these Acts define and make unlawful direct and indirect discrimination and victimization. (H&S, 2010)

As a social value, equality of opportunity is a complicated concept to define. The term equality is, indeed, multiple meanings, and therefore, subject to controversy. Objectivity in the definition given in this article will be on. Note also the ambiguity of the word chance, in the plural in this expression.

Equal opportunity is a requirement that the social status of individuals of a generation no longer depends on moral characteristics, ethnic, religious, and especially financial and social previous generations.
