Code of ethics is the set of rules and regulations which are designed to set acceptable behaviors in any organization. Code of ethics is use to keep the standard in the society as it helps in maintaining the standard of the company Many known and large organizations have Corporate Ethics Officers now, who maintain the organization's culture by setting the code of ethics which every member of the organization has to strictly follow. Nowadays few arguments about the ethics are made, which talks about what code of ethics should be introduced in the organization so that it has an acceptable culture. It appears that the first ethical standard of enterprise is to endure, to maximize the long run worth of the firm to its owners.
Without survival, the subject of enterprise ethics becomes irrelevant. Long term survival can only be accomplished by focusing on earnings (the lifeblood of a business), by being a good business civilian, by producing alternatives that advantage clients and other stakeholders, and by performing commonplace decency and construction believe through honesty and fairness. Unfortunately, the public often adopts an anti-business mentality and blindly acknowledges that any pursuit of earnings is evil.
However, in the context of this paper we tend to analyze and compare the Code of Ethics of the American Counseling Association and Code of Ethics of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
Discussion
General Similarities
Since both the codes of ethics are crafted for the counseling profession thus the similarities between the two codes of ethics are bound to exist. However, the area which tends to differentiate the two codes of ethics lies in the heart of the Code of Ethics of the American Association of Christian Counselors. Since this code of ethics was designed specifically for the organization having a Christian worldview.
However, either the code tends to be uniform as far as the spirit of the theories, thoughts or ideas are concerned. Both the codes are applied after the mistakes happen and then the codes are applied to prevent others to commit the same mistake. Both the secular and Christian counselors tend to use the code of ethics for more or less the same purpose with only difference being applied to the Christian worldview.
General Differences
The differences between the two codes tends to creep in from the fact that American Association of Christian Counselors code of ethics were created primarily for the Christian counselors and thus tends to have a biblical background attached to it. Code of Ethics of the American Association of Christian Counselors tends erase the Code of Ethics of the American Counseling Association in some areas.
However, the AACC tends to have more depth attached to it since it not only touches the biblical perspective but also the other issues concerning the ethics as opposed to the Code of Ethics of the American Counseling Association.
